Havra
About the book
After thirteen years in America, Nikola Markov returns for his father’s funeral and inherits a piece of land someone is willing to kill for.
Across time stands the story of the Russian aristocrat Vera Elegina and an American journalist in 1876. A thriller, a chronicle, and a book within a book.
“The past is like inherited land. Abandon it, and it turns to wasteland. It turns into havra.”
